Took this image last Sunday on the way back from the Point to Point racing, I could see this rainbow in the distance, and knew that this village location was only a few miles away, so I put my foot down to get here before the rainbow disappeared. As it happened it stayed here for a while, but just after taking this shot the rain came down very heavy. Nikon D700, f14, 1/125, ISO200, Sigma 24-70f2.8 at 48mm

This image came second in a Open Colour Print Competition last night against some very good images.

Congratulations Barry - that is good to hear and well deserved. A very peaceful image. You have captured perfectly the magic moment of sunlight just before the rain arrives. Lovely texture in that cloud. Edited: ....because of a random and unexplainable finger poke.

Congrats Barry. A very good image and one that you could wait years to be able to get again. A great range of light and colours.
I must have missed it the first time around.
