I see this as a landscape with animals in it rather than a wildlife shot.

Hi Rob, this is very nice, good composition and colour, plus a great sky. Ok it would had been nice to see both Pony faces, but these animals never do what you want them to do. But still a very nice shot. Will I be seeing this is our next club battle later this year .

Thanks Barry. I'm not sure, i haven't been for months, i'm not sure i want to go any more. No problem, I went to a few camera clubs before I found one that I felt comfortable with.

Hello Rob, I like this – it's genuinely original IMHO. How about changing the aspect ratio to nearer 3:4? That way you can loose a little off the the top and make the result a little nearer to the proportions of most output media – like printing paper. Also, any chance of a bit more contrast in the sky to bring out the sun beams a bit? In any event it's a cracker.

A beautiful picture. Landscape or animals... who cares I wonder if the lower part of the picture should have some less contrast how it would turn out to be. Now (without having seen it), I think I should like it even more. But it's indeed a cracker.

Just exploring my own imagination...love the colour, but I immediately saw it as a B&W, though in this instance, I don't believe I did it the justice I could with the original pixels to work with...a lovely image either way.

I can see why people want to crop the sky a little, i'm sure if i entered it to camera club the judge would say the same, but i like the expanse of sky. The crop does work however, i also toyed with the idea of B&W which also works.

The colors are so softly beautiful! but, of course, it's a great subject for B&W, too. About the suggestions about the sky.....sometimes, I just like to get the feedback and let it simmer till I really know my own mind about it all. In other words, it's helpful to hear the different points of view that help us open up our thoughts about different ways to do it and, then, eventually, when it's not so close to us, look again - sometimes I stick with my original thought and am more sure about it and, sometimes, I finally see what everyone was talking about. (Not a big deal, just a spoken passing thought.)

Really nice. I love it.
The colours are so subtle that I prefer the colour version.

Very nice, while both work I much prefer the color version. I also lean towards the un-cropped, though vieving it on my small monitor makes the cropped version easier to view. In print and hanging I think I would like the full image better.

I thought I had commented on this yesterday, but must have forgotten to push the button. This is brilliant, and I love everything about it. For me, the sky needs to be there as it adds a lot to the feeling of the wide open spaces that these horses live in. The colour is subtle and the positioning of the horses could hardly have been better if you had ordered it.

Rob, I like it just the way it is. Color, landscape, etc. Did you de-saturate the image? No matter what you did, I like the results. With the expanse of sky, it does become a landscape. Very nice. I personally would hang this.

Thanks for the comments peeps! Yes i de-saturated the green which in doing so, cooled down the picture to much, so i added a orange filter.
