To me, this is one of the most difficult shots to successfully achieve: green on green and the proverbial mountain stream. I saw this shot (literally from the corner of my eye as it is located on one of the most treacherous curves on a stretch of road called the Hellbender), as I traversed the curve, went a way further on and made a U-turn to go back. There were two compelling features to the scene which drew my eye: the downhill run of whitewater and the dappled light as it drifted through the dense foliage. I shot it with and without a polarizer and used the polarized version for this presentation as it really helped to define the various greens throughout the scene. Question is, did I succeed?

Chris I think it is a good image. I think it could be cropped a bit off the top to bring the hidden water further into view. That would also cut down on the slightly overwhelming bunch of green. Also I might try to bring forward a little more detail in the rocks. I had a little play and stick by my first impressions, although I do like it in B&W as well.

To me, you did succeed. The sun is lovely in the scene, giving an extra depth in the picture. To me it is nice as is. The cropping Paul suggest gives a totally other (very, very nice) picture

I think you succeeded here, Chris. There is some lovely light coming down through the trees and you have captured a whole range of new-leaf green, from light to dark.
The water looks like water, not whipped cream, which I guess was your intent.
I like the way the sides of the image have a tad less light, thus throwing our attention into the entire vertical central area.
If I were to be really anal, I could suggest that you jump into the stream and break off that single, bare branch that sits just below the middle, but I'm not, so I won't. Besides which, I would hate to be responsible for you coming down with an attack of Photographer's Pneumonia. ;D
