Seems a bit "burned" (perhaps over-contrasty) in the editing, but the view is spectacular...

Absolutely breathtaking, Mike! The water color and quality is extremely appealing. I haven't commented, yet, because I am wondering about the yellow of the trees in the bottom right corner and I've been waiting to see if it's what Chris and Paul diagnosed.
Sooooo.... day hike or view from the porch? ;D

Thanks Katy and all. Believe it or not the colours generally are pretty representative of what was there. I have only adjusted the white balance a touch to tone down the blue haze. The sun was high in the sky and I'm actually standing in snow, so all the colours are very vibrant. I have increased the 'clarity' a touch and also the contrast. I found I needed to boost the latter to get a better balance between the trees on the slopes and those dark trees at the very top of the mountain which form an unnatural dark band. This is one of my favourite spots in Europe and I could spend hours just taking in the view.

I think that I like the edit, Mike - I surely gasped! The color and quality of the water is really extraordinary. Stunning view, Mike. I'll bet you had a good workout getting there. yeah, well, last spring, I asked a similar question and the answer involved something about the view from the hot tub or as he was grilling dinner and seeing it and grabbing his camera or something like that.... ;D
