Chris, a worthwhile revisit. What with me and Castles and you with Boats I think we both need therapy (retail that is). I like the feel of this particular take - but have to say I struggle to get past the strange angle of the chain near the bow of the boat.

The chain is so rusted, it simply won't hang like a regular chain would and the owner of the boat won't let anyone on it to bust the poor thing loose.
I might give a little cutting and pasting a try...could work.

The whole thing is something of a visual conundrum for me, which is not to say that I dislike it, but to say that I have to really look to see what I'm seeing. (Duh.) Something to do with the angle of the boat and the reflection. We are used to seeing reflections "straight on" and that may be where my mind-fart is coming from. But that is good - visual challenge rattles the old cortex.
Wonder what happened to Gulf Slipper l?

Very good subject to photography, Chris! Lots of potential for all kinds of photo effects. For me, when I first saw your image, my immediate reaction was that the composition was too tight. I was thinking of taking a more laid back vantage point so I can show the boat's desolation and it's proportion. I am also thinking of making the shot look "grittier" to add the idea of decay and decomposition. I am also thinking of doing specific close-up shots on interesting areas of the boat itself for a semi-documentary kind of presentation. My, your image really makes my imagination fly! Nice find and good shot, Chris.

Chris, I agree with Nick....worthwhile revisit. I like this much better than last time. The compis tight though if I remember it was not last time and there was some background issues? I like the tight view here as it forces my eye to study the details. Love the water coming up over the side. Reflection is pretty nice and clean too.
