Went out last night to try and get a rare sunset over the sea - well kinda. I live on the east coast so this is only possible during midsummer. Hope you enjoy looking - C&C please. #1 #2 #3

Not so keen on image 1, as it looks rather flat. Image 2 has good detail in waves and sea. But I do like Image 3, nice warm colours in sky, good movement in the water and I like the letterbox format.

agree with Barry, one this i would have done is got close and low to that step with the water falling off it and made it a prominent foreground interest, something to anchor the picture with some nice motion of the water falling off it

Wow, wish we had those kind of views down here. Loved Philly and Gettysburg, the Jersey shore. ( down the shore) LOL! I have to go back soon. Love the B&W, but I think they all get my vote. Go Mariners!!

I am with Dave here, I agree with Barry and like Daves idea on getting low and the forground. As it is, I like #3 and while it might not have been what you were hoping for.... I would not call it failed.

Thanks to you all for your kind comments - and sorry I took so long to respond. I'm glad I posted all three of these since it's often by reading comments about the ones that did not work so well, that one learns the most. I've done a little more work on #3 and it's now nicer in full size on my screen. The difference is small in an Internet size jpeg so I won't repost. What I am going to do is to try printing it on matte paper - along with some of my other colour images.
