Thank you Barry for letting me know about this place. I'm trying to get to grips with nik silver. For some stupid reason it adds film grain as a default setting. I didn't notice at first. I can't decide if a like it, i don't think i do. I might go back and re-edit it.

Looks like you had some better weather than when I visited this place (blue sky). Interesting to see that you have gone monochrome, as I thought this would suit this type of image. As for your shot here, I like your view point making the boat remains more dominant, but I do find the background wreak a bit distracting, drawing my eye away from the main subject.

Maybe, just maybe, a higher vantage point could probably give a better sense of scale and proportion of the boat relative to the site. That would also bring the horizon in sight to make the composition more dramatic (for me, that is). The problem is, I have no idea how are you going to position yourself higher?

Hello Rob, I've been caught out with the Sepv2 grain thing too. I take it that you've discovered the sliders ? I always use the smallest grain setting and full soft. About the image. Overall I quite like it. I think the conversion (grain accepted) is very good, and suits the subject well. There is something about it that keeps nagging at me. I'm not sure – but it may be that the wreck – towards the top right – keeps dragging my eye out of the frame. See what I mean?

Hello Rob I'd like to see more of these, for sure. I very much like the echoing V-shapes made by the clouds and the two main subjects. And the subtle transition between grass and wood at the base of the foreground fragment makes me see it as one solidifying and transforming into the other I think that Jiro’s suggestion about finding a higher viewpoint is worth exploring too, if possible. But the only other thing I can think of suggesting for now is that if a little more space could be given at the right edge of the frame it might help to stop the eye being drawn out of the picture (as Nick pointed out). I'm still learning how to work the sliders on SEP2. I keep thinking that the program can so do much more than I'm currently aware of. A boat graveyard sounds like a place you could spend days in without running out of subjects. We’ve got a huge one around here, but I’d need an underwater camera and some diving gear to explore it Cheers, Seri
