"Dirty Water" This one I liked for the chaos in textures, lines, shapes and values...so much going on, yet to me, there was also a sense of peacefulness to it all...

You're right, Chris - there's a wonderful cross hatch of lines - triangles. I don't think that there's a strong enough main subject, though, or that there's enough absence of subject to make it abstract. BUT, perhaps, it's very possible, that others will see it differently.
That's something that's amazing about you, Chris - you see 'out of the box'!

keep in mind a single dominate color can be as equally strong as a charging bull or a nekkid anything.

Chris.... just a thought.... and I'd like to know what you think. What about cropping off the top bright strip so that the two murky taupey browns frame the image on the top and on the bottom? Good idea or not? or, what about darkening that top strip?

It's interesting. i find the reflection quite absorbing and then you glance either down to the silty water or up to the patterns of the reflected light on the wood.
It wood be nice as part of a series showing more of the surrounding area or objects.

I agree with both Katy and Steve in what they have said. For me it just isn't grabbing enough by itself, but interesting enough to be part of a series.

Did a square crop and some color adjustments...

Or this version...less sharpening and a different crop.

A fascinating abstract with beautiful colors Chris. I wonder if it would work flipped vertically?
