I have subscribed LensWork for 3 years. Today I received the first of the 18 issues of the subscription which cover you can see below. The magazine is rather small in size but all the images are superb, very well printed and the presentation is excellent. It's black and white ! No color ! Consider that it is not expensive: 3 year subscription = 233 US$ which was at the moment's rate about 199 €. 233 / 18 = 12.94 US$ = 10,50 € per number. Issue 102 is already out and ... with a Portuguese !

I have almost every issue ever printed. I used it in class for a long time for the students to use as a guide in how to discuss photography. Of course, we used it for inspiration as well...

I'm fortunate in that the publisher is in the town where I catch the ferry to visit my brother in Washington State (Anacortes) and I get to visit on either side of the trip. I alwaya get at least three back issues each trip to read on the three hour ferry trip.

The issue I received had problems. I mailed them and... I received today a new copy of the same issue of the magazine which is in good conditions in spite of being wrapped in a similar envelope. Only a small difference: a cellophane wrap ! I hope futures issues will be as good as this one

You mean it would be worth the 30 min drive north to grab a copy? ;D

Paul, I think the publication - from which I have read only till now, the first 6 pages - worth going there to buy. But perhaps to ask it on the web would be easier and more confortable. On the other hand if you go there you may meet the editor himself. I do not know which kind of relation he has with clients but he seems very friendly and nice. Anacortes is surely not as anonymous and cold as San Francisco I think... Paper - physical - edition is far more attractive than a digital one. If you can get one and evaluate the quality of the images inserted. It worth the effort

The drive does not bother me as it gives good excuse to shoot the area. Deception Pass and a few freshwater lakes are within 5 miles not to leave out Anacortes itself. I will have to plan a day trip....it is a little more than my quated 30min....but not much.

It is definitely worth the drive and it is such a lovely drive, too. I love the whole ride in and as you said, Deception Pass is too good a side trip to pass up.

Speaking of which.....you missed 88 days of sun this summer. Not likely to happen again anytime soon.
