Definitely is a much more compelling image on black. On the default here it looks a bit washed out, but a dark frame does wonders. Which is me saying yes, I like it. Very calming.

Hello Chris, It's a very subtle image, and I like it a lot. I like the way the horizontal lines all expand / diverge right to left – with all the textural layers and colours between. If my reading is what your aiming for is right, I'd like to see if darkening the part above the far water line might bring out the colours – like the pink – just a bit. In a similar vein I wonder if you could increase the pop in to foreground yellow. In saying all that I realize that preparing this to a show would presumably mean printing it and doing so in mind of the lighting. I'd be very interested in learning what paper you print the work on and what adjustments you might make, and so on. HTH.

I actually decreased the foreground yellow as I felt it drew too much away from the water...I'll check again.
