The race marshals run the dinghy sailing races from the end of this pier. On days like this, they run the risk of getting swept off, and so, although the hardier sailors go out, they don't get to race. I've a couple more from this shoot, but they will have to wait for another day. C&C welcome in the meantime.

Thats nice Janis. I like the way you have caught the spray on the LHS. I don't think I would fancy going out in that Maybe in your conversion you could try and get the sky a bit darker so that the clouds stand out a bit more?

I tried a lot of different things with this image and found that what I liked best was to have the clouds de-emphasized, so as to help focus attention on the graphic quality of the composition, and the structure of the pier. Does that make sense? I think I am going to be playing with this series quite a lot, as each shot seems to call for something different.
