Harborscapes

This weekend I went to Baltimore for my oldest son's wedding. They were married on large harbor tour boat. We then took on other passengers and went for a ride around the harbor. I have not been to the Inner Harbor in many years. I hope you enjoy these pictures. Please comment.

I liked the first and last better but in my liking, I also wondered..hmmm, what would the top image look like if some of the vertical distortion was "straightened" out...and jiroized and brightened just a bit. Anyway, as always my edits are more a reflection of understanding the program's features and ho wbetter to manipulate them without the influence of it being my own work.



In the last one, I wondered if you should have recentered the interest only on the kids playing in the fountain and left the rest out.

'Rie, my preferences are for #'s 1, 2 & 9. Chris has done what I would have suggested with 1 & 9, as it happens, although I probably would have given the kids on the right a tad more space to play in. The second one reminds me of a visit to Auckland, NZ, as their waterfront has a bit of this type of atmosphere too. For the given subjects, the others seem to lack a bit of pizzaz and might benefit from a bit of extra brightness in the mid range tones. But all over, a nice look at a city I'll probably never get to.

Nice series 'Rie

My favourites are 1, 2, 7 and 9. I like Chris' edits of 1 and 9.

Of them all I think number 2 has some great potential but with some heavy PP. If you have some other frames from the same time and could clone out the couple walking towards the little girl it would create a bit more space around her. Then with some selective darkening of the rest of the frame but not the girl you could make her a really strong subject in the image. I'm not sure if you will get what I mean but unfortunately I can't play with it myself at the moment.
