These are using the 9 Stop ND filter...still not much sun to work with but it looks like I might get a decent sunset - fingers crossed - One of them I have done both as a color and B&W...Need some good C&C on the b&W as I think I want to incoporate this treatment into my perception series. Chris, all unique and interesting. The first looked perhaps.....blah...until I scrolled down to see the whole image and it then made sense, a great capture of the subtle movement.
The second is just fantastic...I can't tell you exactly why but it is quite striking. The high detail and dead calmness....high structure against the dreamy soft base...something like that.
The B&W is nice but loses some of the punch from the color.

Chris, I like the conversion on the piles, but feel that it needs to be cleaner. There are some areas beneath the wharf (if that is what it is)where there are some distracting elements that work with the colour version, but for me, not in the black & white. I had a fiddle: Makes for a more dynamic image in my view.

Not sure I knowwhat you mean by being "cleaner." Do you mean sharper?

Not sharper, no. In your b & w, there are some dapply areas right up under the piles. I removed those with the clone tool, so that there is more pure contrast between the piles and the water underneath. You see what I mean?

I like the idea of the first one Chris. I think that would make a great image if it was taken at night with a bit of light painted onto the tree trunk.
Of the other two, I prefer the colour version as the green in the background fits with the title.
