I recently reworked an image I shot when I first got my D7000. It is a pretty decent image and printed well but I always felt it was too contrasty and so I began to fiddle with it today. Retired people get to fiddle a bunch.
To reduce the contrast and open up some of the areas which were clogged up by oversaturated pixels, I used a technique I'd nearly forgotten about until recently when Steve mentioned doing it. It is a quite simple technique and almost completely self explanatory as per the screen shots.
There's a time to have fun and a time to be serious...okay, I've had my serious moment; let's go somewhere share a pint.
