So sad what happened in the Civil War. I loved that TV series that was on years ago which gave the whole history of it. There was a great series of radio talks last year on BBC radio 3 by Dr Adam Smith. You can still download them, but perhaps not outside the UK? www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/r3docs/all There are 4 programs and you need to listen in chronological order as they follow one another - about half-way down the page. Really good series. Nice shot - captures the atmosphere well.

I like the viewpoint Chris, very much like someone hiding and looking at The Master's House.

Well done Chris. I'd have given up with the trees “in the way”, but you've skilfully included them in the composition. Interesting architectural style.

When I was in the military, I spent about 4 years in Beaufort, S.C. There were some wonderful examples of Antebellum Architecture there.

I like it Chris. Almost see myself sitting on a swinging chair under the tree with a tall glass of lemonade.....make that iced tea.

This was an old cotton plantation that dates back to the mid 1800's and one of the few not burned to the ground by the union soldier stationed in the area.

Antebellum was as much an era and a way of life as it was an architectural style. You'll find many homes of this style throughout the southeastern US, most of which were tied to plantations and slaves.
Think Gone With the Wind and you have Antebellum in a nutshell.

I see, I find that happens to me quite often. I had a play with this trying to keep some of the mood. You are right, it was tough. I did get something I kinda like though if you care to see.

I kinda like it. Although a touch over sharpened. I'll fix that.
