I've spent many an hour with my Compass Relic Magnum doing exactly the same thing..it's actually kind of soothing once you get past the eighty-million pop tops, bottlecaps and beer cans.

The copy posted here doesn't do it justice - you need to see the larger version. Excellent shot with lots of fine detail. Nice one.

I did take a look first thing...it is one of those images that evoked a nice memory for me. I still get out once in awhile and have the first notable object I found with my metal detector and ironically, I found it on the first day I had the machine. With the price of gold, me thinks I shall keep it just a bit longer.
