When I shoot flowers for these guys, they just put little stakes by them and I shoot. I always assumed since they were a Day Lily farm, what they gave me to shoot was a day lily...well, have I got a surprise for them...doubtfully though as they are one of the larger day lily operations around and have been for years.
A little later this coming fall, I'm going to shoot the entire process of cross pollinating for future hybrids. It's tediously facinating.

Nice to have some clarity on the name. I would have called it an oriental Lilly as I have them( yeller ones too), in my garden but assumed the name difference was geographical.
So are you shooting for their catalogue Chris?

I do some..Randy likes to do a lot of his own shooting but when the season is at it's peak and they are at a show, he marks the ones he needs shot at peak bloom and I run on up and take them. I probably shoot 100 a season. I'm shooting a live plant so have to carry a black cloth and diffuser setup to isolate the bloom. Photoshop does the rest.
