Whilst having a clear out I came across this pair of baby shoes and couldn't resist having a play with the camera.

I am learning to look past the composition of a shot and concentrate solely on the exposure. Is the light right, are the shadows commiserate with the scale of other tonal ranges within the shot; is there a good sharp black and equally opposing white, even if just a speck? If I can see all these elements, then the shot it a total success.
I can not like the composition but love the impact the image has on me. I really like this one for the primary reasons, and like it for the composition - which, since it only got a like and not a really like, I would have preferred a tad more at the bottom, less at the top - perhaps 3 or 4 mm more each way.
you need to show us more stuff, young lady...holding back on us like this...tsk-tsk-tsk

She is only allowed to post when all the chores are done. With two five year olds and me, that isn't very often ;D

I found my eldest daughter's christening shoes the other day....she is twenty one now. Shoes like this are beautiful keepsakes and I do like this shot. The only thing I would suggest is shifting the black point just below the reference line in the left hand quarter of the tonal curve (Curves utility).

Thanks for your comments. I do enjoy taking photo's and know I have a lot to learn and need to keep practising. I will try and make more of an effort to post some photo's.

Please...DO. there are a few of us beginning to feel like the Lone Ranger, again. Steal do-dah's new Canon whilst he dinks around on the job and show us what's in your eye. Oh, yeah, and put an apron on that boy once in awhile...he needs to learn some humility.
Now, if I could just figure out where Rob wandered off to...I'm getting wiggy-view and fractalis withdrawals.

Yes, Mrs. Webb, it is lonely here, so please do jump in. I think you have a great eye.
Is it raining in Seattle area? I am missing my daily dose of wildlife shots. Not to mention fractalis shots; British and New Zealand landscapes; portraits, action shots, and still lifes from Australia (Kay and Raylee, if you are reading), underwater shots, photo essays from Portugal, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
