Probably didn't see the tower when I shot this last fall. Oh well. Let me know what you think of the colour of the sky. The sky was dramatic that evening and the colour was somewhat unusual, but I am quite sure I have not got it right. The location is a nature centre on the edge of town. These tipis are near the bison compound.

Well that confirms that Flickr's "Replace this photo" function changes the image location. I trust you can see it now?

Ugh. I find Aperture's cloning tool awkward. Can anyone speak to the efficacy of the cloning tool in PS Elements? It would be affordable.
Glad you like it, 'Rie. Hadn't considered b&w and for this one, because it was all about the colour contrast for me, but there was another one I thought lent itself to a mono treatment... I'm putting it in the Mono section now.

It may be time, Steve, it may well be time. Though there's some who think the tower should stay. Thanks! It was an extraordinarily beautiful evening, light wise. One of the great things about a prairie sky is the variety you can have--clear sky here; stormy sky there. And then the beautiful contrast of stormy sky and golden grass. I love the prairies. One of my photographic ambitions is to capture both their subtle and their dramatic beauty.

Janis, I like this very much - please feel free to re shoot this fall - there has to be a ton of images in here. Oh - and love the Monty Python type joke you slipped in...... "where can I find the Tipis?.... Oh right, over there, by the Bison enclosure"

Lovely colours Janis. I too would lose the tower, and the fence post on the LHS.

Very nice, Janis. Love the light. I would also lose the tower and the post....although if not looking at the beauty of the image and concentrating on the juxtiposition between the native Tipis of yester year and the modern tower encroaching upon the wild untammed and old ways, I can see the argument. I prefer the beauty myself.

Nick, the joke was not intentional, but I am glad if I made you laugh. ;D It is indeed a great location, in all seasons. I will have to make the effort to go more often. Thanks for your comments, and yours, Wirefox, Steve and Paul. I agree that the tower has to go, if only because it is too close to the edge of the frame. It is due mostly to pure laziness that I did not take it out.
