Morning Jan,
My picks on this set would be #1 and #3. The colors and composition do it for me.

Jan,
Please understand this is just my humble. Nothing technical, just a viscereal reaction to your images.
In #1, I like the composition a lot. the only niggle is that the kelly greens of the trees don't seem to fit well with the pastel blues and pinks and apricots.
In #2, I personally don't like the composition. It seems too evenly split between image and reflection.
In #3, I love the colors. The black of the landscape divides the sky and reflections nicely. I like that the landscape undulates a bit and is not static across your frame.
In #4, to me, the bottom half of the image is lost to shadow.
Take care. I hope this helps,
'Rie

It's good, Marie. Pats on the back are nice for motivation but they don't get you very far along the learning curve. I should not have been so lazy with #1 and been more selective about what I pushed the saturation on. #2 did not start out so evenly split but the bottom of the reflection was not pleasing to me. Again, with a little work, I might be able to make it so. #4 has just enough light on the bottom on my screen to make it intriguing, but I will go back and see if I can lighten it up a bit.
Don't hesitate to give me your honest opinion. It is gratifying to have people point out things you overlooked or reinforce things you were already thinking.

Number 1 is not for me. I think it looks too flat, like it was underexposed by the camera on auto mode and nothing has been done to it to fix it. Blimey that sounds harsh Number 2 I like the banding of colours right from the water up to the sky. I don't think it is a hanger but I like it. Number 3 looks lovely and makes the best use of the light. The silhouetted trees are very nice and the golden kiss of light on the water is superb. This one is a hanger although maybe with about a sixth removed from the top. Number 4 could do with a teensy bit more detail in the foreground if you can recover some.

Not too harsh, Steve; thanks. I will go back to these and try to wring something more out of them, bearing all your comments in mind.
