Anyone using Topaz Black and White plug in ? I have Nik's which is quite good returning good results. I have done some great images with it. But when I use High Structure for example I always have some hallos around the person as you can see here which in fact I tried to disguise with a mask. Perhaps they are very similar...

Hi Antonio I have some of the Topaz plug ins but not the B&W one as SEP2 seems to do everything I want it to. Are you on SEP2 or the first version. I couldn't believe the difference in the upgraded version of SEP

Hi Steve I have SEP 2 for a year or so, before they were bought by Google. I do like it ... very practical with nice results. I use the plug in with masks sometimes...

I find the "Full Dynamic Harsh" pre-set a great place to start and then generally adjust mine from there. Do you have a favourite place to start off?

That is really a harsh start Steve ! It depends on the image of course but I do start from these Favorits. Sometimes I make two of them (High Structure and Fine Art Process) in separate layers of course and mask them... The first for the cloths and the other for the face. However, one must be careful about the halos produced !

Indeed, you have to be careful. I find the Topaz plugins quite clunky (not sure if that translates to portuguese?? ), they are not as straight forward to use as NIK and the different effects don't seem to be organised in any real order to me.
