I think I would like to get rid of that one blade of grass, but I still haven't learned how to do that sort of thing in Gimp. A project for the next rainy day, I think. Any other comments or suggestions for improvement, processing-wise? I'm quite pleased with myself for catching her with the light on her face.

Lovely picture and nice processing janis. The blade of grass doesn't really bother me too much so I wouldn't worry your self about it. You have caught a really great light on her face so I think it would be nice to make more of it by darkening the rest of the scene down a bit. It just stops her back leg competeing for the viewers eye so much. Being almost as bright as the face it creates a conflict on where to look first.

Quite right about the distribution of light, Steve. I'll get on it.

Better, I think, but good enough?

I think so. The blade of grass acts somewhat like a counterbalance, therefore not at all distracting.

Thanks, Chris. I'm thinking the white patch below her muzzle is still a touch too bright, but I have spent too much time on it to be objective at the moment.

The latest version is very nice. Maybe leaving it alone for a bit is for the best. I wonder if you've reached the point where you're making it different without necessarily making it better?
