Interesting picture. It holds my attention for a long time. Superb mix of light and shadows. So much detail and so many stories it seems.
What's the story behind it Antonio?

Lovely tonal range there, Antonio. I think you could also have just zoomed in on the lady, two children and the dog, which has the best part of the image. Nice!

@ Steve - This was shot in Borneo in a long house. A house where 5 or 6 families live along the corridor. Some were outside to welcome the tourists and sell some stuff. @ Rob - I would have some difficulties on the crop and I do have cropped already a bit. More would increase the noise... I think. - My purpose since the beginning of working on this image was to transmit feelings and emotions and not a nice photo with detail in the shadows, no noise, etc. This is the reason - no. This was one of the reasons why the woman on the bottom right is so "dark" - should I say dim ? - the other being that she was too noisy to appear what would diminish the overhall quality of the image itself. I have done 3 times this photo until I got this one. However, I am not completely satisfied as it lacks a bit of mid tones. But it is agressive enough as it should be according to the scene. I made the image dark in the background because I wanted to enhance the scene of the woman with the two babies and dog not forgetting the people in the foreground. I am also happy that one can see enough of the face of the woman and how much she feels miserable with a happy kid in front. On the other hand, I think it is funny how curious the dogs looks. I am not happy to have two or three white burned areas in the image. But what the heck ? Is it important ? No. It is not. Thank you Steve and Rob for your comments.

As the guys have said this a really interesting image Antonio & the detail keeps your interest. I find myself drawn to the child further back being litvthrough another window and wanting to know more about him. Our daughter stayed in 1 of these long houses on a school study tour to Borneo/Malaysia so I will show her your photo, she will like it I am sure as it will bring back her memories.
