This summer, I have been trying to use my camera more often. Somehow, I never did get the images processed - or posted. I have been busy canning jams, jellies, pickles and relishes and most recently, apple products - sauce, butter and pie fillings. Anyhow, enough excuses. Here are some monochromes for your comment/critique. 1. _MG_3901m by mariehass, on Flickr 2. _MG_3785m by mariehass, on Flickr 3. Spiderweb across the burn barrel _MG_3753m by mariehass, on Flickr 4. Marie, Good to see you have your priorities right. All that food talk has me wishing for supper!
I very much like #1 - super Americana shot for me. You might like to shave the top so as to take out the bits of sky peeping through the tree tops. I also like #5 and it might be a little better with a bit taken off of the left side so as to loose the bright box that's in the bucket. Please can we see #2 with a more conventional treatment?

Dearest Nick - for your editing pleasure, here is the original of #2. I would be honored if you will have a play. barn original by mariehass, on Flickr 'Rie

Interesting, Chris. I cannot say I actually even like my own version. My version is also - just different.

If you run, i will find you, Nick Johnson, even if I have to cross the oceans! Much better. Looks like you adjusted for color cast, transformed via perspective? and brightened. The entire picture looks much more balanced and pleasing to the eye.
I like it better than my own tortured edit. I actually do like Chris's version, but was wishing for a bit more room on the right. It looks a bit crowded to me (I had to clone in some green background on that side in my version - did you?)

You've sussed it Marie. The keystone correction made things a bit tight on the RH side and top. Oh, and I added nothing since I don't do clowning. Unfortunately the quality of the jpeg prevented me from having a real go at the cart and interior of the barn near the cart. Maybe you can revisit at some time?
