We have moved on to still life now with four different themes to shoot. These are from an outing today shooting abandoned subjects. The ball hitch and leaf spring are from a truck that I had posted an image of way back when, as I knew it would make for a great subject. The others are from a potato farm in Hastings, Florida that has a large collection of old tractors and farming equipment on display. There is also a museum, but I have not been there yet as they are closed on the weekend. f/6.3@1/100 sec, ISO 400, 35mm f/5.6@1/100 sec, ISO 800, 85mm f/7.1@1/100 sec, ISO 400, 35mm f/11@1/125 sec, ISO 400, 85mm After posting these up, they look over sharpened. Did not do to much sharpening during pp, so I'll have to figure out what's going on. Might have something to do with anding contrast to the colors.

Nice use of that 35mm . Adding contrast to the images has everything to do with over-sharpening. One way you can overcome some of this is to add a layer mask and "paint" out the crunchy areas with a 50% black brush set to very soft.

I really like 2 and 3 Ron.
How are you processing your images? I had a problem with Lightroom before where it would apply all the processing a second time when the image was exported. Could this be happening? Or maybe you have some kind of auto sharpening being applied when you save?

I saw these on FB. Good work, I do like number 2. Seems like you are enjoying your class work?

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Chris: The 35mm is working out rather well. Along with the 85mm they are the only lenses that I use now. As far as the mask, I'll try it out when I get time to work on the images again.

Nice set of work Ron. I especially like the shapes / geometry of #3. I'm sure there must be some more to come from that peeling ball hitch - fascinating subject.

I like the third one a lot - simple and effective.
