a lot of beginners wanted to learn to do night shots so we met downtown (30° 10.012', -85° 42.072') and at the adjacent marina are to do a little shooting, a little teaching. A fun time was had by all. Jack Frost Sings the Night Electric Detail of Jack Frost Lisa and Marissa. Marissa (right side) is the daughter of the lady in the next shot, Sandi. Marissa is very photogenic. Sandi learning to shoot AV The Betsy Ann (owner bought this image this morning after seeing it online via a friend sharing the image) Image shot in the adjacent marina

Splendid! As I've learned in the last year or so, photography can be social and not just solitary and serious.

That I was able to get natural skin tones under tungsten light on a redhead, no less, that pleased me to no end. I really like this D800 and the 28-300 f:4.

I'm very impressed by the acuity you are achieving with your D800. Guess I'll have to start saving.

It's the camera and the 28-300 my new best lens in the world.

It's the camera and the 28-300 my new best lens in the world. That's a real surprise Chris, as the 28-300 doesn't get particularly good reviews. It just goes to show that there can be some margin in the results of lab and real world tests. Keep 'em coming, your results look great.

I used a friend of mine's 28-300 for a weekend and was so pleasantly surprised at how well is shot. There is a little issue at the very end 280mm to 300mm and perhaps a touch at 28mm with some vignetting, but it is an easy correction in the Raw editor so as not to be a real concern.
