Decided to check out what this rose would look like converted to b&w, and in the process, I broke out my Advanced Digital B&W book by John Beardsworth to try out the different toning techniques using the separate color curves. These are the results that I came up with, so feel free to comment. The b&w conversion Palladium Palatinum Selenium Lith And I forgot to mention my new watermark. The monogram was created in my 2D design as a block print cut out of linolium.

Im not a fan of mono flowers as a rule but of these I prefer B&W and Selenium.

Nice image. I prefer the original. If anything I'd be tempted to do a very slight (almost imperceptible) blue tone.

Thanks everyone for the input.
The school is having their student art show at the end of this month, and I'm contemplating which images I want to enter.

An update on the student art show. I entered the platinum rose along with my macro azalea stamen and the 2D project for judging and out of the three, the rose made it into the show. Have also made note cards of some my flower macros and sold a set of five different ones to my 2D design teacher at the Santa Fe annual art show in Gainesville. Also had someone interested in having some of my images printed on canvas wrap at a 13 x 11 frame to hang on her wall at her house. Woo hoo!!!!

Thanks Don and Steve. The show starts on Apr18 and runs into May. I was hoping the azalea image would have made it in , but oh well.
