Looks like you had a job on your hands with the big dynamic range / highlights from the strong sidelight. I particularly like the detail in the shadows, the timber frame and steps at the back - oh, and the plants too.

I used Silver Efex for the main edit and then tweeted with some local adjustments in Lightroom This is one of my favourite French towns.
