I found a new church not far away from where I live, and spotted this gravestone which seemed to jump out at me. But I think it will work better in the mornings when the sun will be hitting it from the front as opposed from the left.

I'm sure it would show a different mood compared to this one once the sun is in a different location on your next shoot. I kinda like this one, Barry. I just wish the white areas on the gravestone was not that too hot.

Thanks for your comment, and I will be revisiting this church to catch the morning sun, hopefully with a darker sky as well so that the white gravestone will really stand out against it all. Last year I managed to capture a similar type of shot which gained me lots of first places in various competitions and was accepted into the Welsh Photo Salon.

Wow. Sounds awesome! Congrats. I will see about uploading it here soon. It is just that I'm busy at moment putting together a presentation of my photography for a talk I have been asked to do.

Maybe you could ask a friend to video it for you so we can see your presentation, too.

This is very interesting. The conversion and the grain (?) make a very nice mood and the light creates wonderful shapes and shadows. I like the tree silhouettes and the partially lit gravestones on the right. The way they are placed in the frame contributes to a single message.
It will be interesting to see how the morning light changes the image, but I suspect that you will loose much of the mood it conveys right now... For me it's already an excellent image.
I want to ask how did you process this?

I want to ask how did you process this? Shot in Raw, then a bit of editing in CS3 (to remove electric cables and pole) and finally taken into Silver Efex Pro 2.
