Good images but so many to work with...where does one ever get the time. I like this one for the simplicity of a complex object.

Works well in monochrome with the light on those lighter supports against the sky. And you have captured good detail.

Chris, How about a square crop? Bottom of frame so that the prominent spoke running left to right goes into the top right corner. That way I find that my eye is drawn into the frame by the rear hub.

I wonder if the square crop doesn't take out too much of the "lift" gained by having a longer fore area? I did try to match the upper left diagonal with one of equal value at the bottom right of the frame. I did several crops before arriving at this one, but no wyou have me thinking again...aaarrrggghhhhh........

Yes, it's hard to do this stuff. I find anything but a distant perspective on this kind of subject kinda automagically looks complicated and ill defined. We sort of get sucked into the thing photo op wise. Then back at base the head scratching starts. I usually revert to type and try to run a strong elliment into a corner – thus the crop suggestion. I guess it's the engineer coming out to play.

I think I prefer Nick's crop too. The whole gives me too much information and clutter, whereas the crop lets me look at a smaller portion and I can see the shapes in between better. I do like the mono, though as I think colour might complicate the image even more. I'm guessing it is something electrical? But what?
