#1 is better than the Spanish Moss (other thread). This one has more of an initial focus point (base of the stem). Good BW conversion - and in the banana plant shot.

Hello Chris, This is a mixed pair for me. #1 works well for me. I find that I can pick out a sort of floor mop type shape – strangely satisfactory.
#2 I find too complicated in it's mixture of shapes, textures, and tones. I can't find a door to start to get into the image, and it's not peaceful enough to just take it as it is.
