Lovely, soft lighting. Well placed subjects in the frame. I would probably rotate the image about 1 degree to the right to level out their feet, yet keep the slope of the pathway intact. I might also try to "darken" the area on the ground, middle left where that strong ray of sun hits the ground.
Unfortunately, the strength of the "blown out" area competes with the figures in the background. The saving grace is the equally strong, though much smaller blow out near the far right's figure and of course, the great tonal qualities of the trees leaves.
Darks move lights forward. A great example of using line and light to direct the eye in a pleasing curve from front to back.
Overall, a nice shot!

Thanks Chris. The smaller image emphasises the blow out and I have to agree with you. I'll try some discreet cloning to try to reduce the problem. A quick try at darkening that area look very artificial.

You could probably clone some of the grass and leaves to the right and front of the blown out area.

I look forward to seeing the edit. I agree with the points made by Chris and can see in my minds eye a pretty nice image coming from what is a good capture.

I have to agree it is a very calming image and i love the way the figures gain definition as you gaze at it. I find myself wondering whether a square crop would improve the overall 'vision' but in any case it just works for me. The blown out area is inevitable with the light but it was well worth the risk since it has the effect of allowing the rest of the image reveal itself to the viewer as mentioned above. WireVixen just passed the computer and said "oooh thats nice" and believe me its difficult to pass the Vixen test We have lanes like this near us but strangely the dog walkers seem to be always accompanied by middle aged ladies in rain coats and intriguingly inappropriate stripper heels . There is always a string 10 year old Volvo's and white vans parked at the top of the lane too. Perhaps its a Northern thing ;D

LOL @ Steve, around here as well so maybe a NW thing as well. ;D Although the stripper heels are usually replaced be a matching valour track suit. lol

Very nice, I like the way that the lane leads your eye up to the dog walkers, and the way you have captured the moment with that light. Agree about a slight rotate of the image and a crop as I find the right hand side a bit dead, this would also take the main subjects off centre..

It's lovely, Mike, but I'm with Antonio, I find the blue of the jackets somewhat jarring.
