Dear all, I've been quite busy for the last few months, so it's an age I do not post here... I try to turn back with this pic I captured last winter, what do you think about? thanks!! N

Composition has worked, having the sea on the thirds, and you have captured the reflection of the sky well. But the image does look rather flat, so maybe a boast in levels may bring the warm colours out.

Nicola, this second offering is far better than the first. Colours are good and far more definition in the reflections. There are a couple of issues with composition though. Firstly, the strong diagonal from centre right to upper third left is unconventional but interesting. The top of the image needs to be cropped to get rid of the horizon with the ship on it but the sand in the lower left corner is the big problem, it immediately distracts the viewers eye. I hope you dont mind but I have done a 20 second make over to illustrate what I mean..the cloning is slap dash but it gives a feel for what can be done and I have increased the blacks ever so slightly

Agree with Steve's edit, this is a much stronger image than your first one, my eye is drawn along the bottom of the image to the right then follows the wave up to the top before heading right again along the sea. You have also captured some nice colours in the reflections.
