This is the precursor to "Two Old Bird" I posted earlier. I guess, a trait we all share, the study of light is an ever-engrossing activity. This is a shot that challenged my metering capabilities pretty much to the max as I was shooting for both an outside (through plastic windows) and inside with only a few xmas tree bulbs hung from the ceiling and the sun for lighting. Obviously, I wanted a clean exposure for each situation, yet maintain a full dynamic range of tonal value, light and shadow definition. I exposed for the "pinkish" bucket on the middle table as it seemed to manifest all the good parts of the histogram when I pushed my meter from one side of the viewing frame, to the other. I really wish I'd brought my spotmeter with me, but alas, alack... So, how'd I do?

I like your edited version, good exposure recording detail outside as well as inside, plus composition is good having the corner of the room off centre. I may had been tempted to clone in a bit of the pole on left at top (outside) so that it did not look as if the image is leaning, as the door frame is upright.
