Gave it a shot as a B&W to see if taking the color element out would change the focus. Opinions?

Hey Chris, this is interesting, but doesn't really do much for me personally. I do like the focus on the water bead. That is what my eye went to. I like its location. I would almost wish the leaf itself was more on a diagonal. The dark on the end of the leaf detracts rather than adds. This is my totally unschooled opinion. I could be all wet. ;D

For me, there's not enough detail in the leaf. It seems a little bland or something. Like Marie, though, I like the water bead. It shows detail that's not present in the rest of the leaf.

Hi Chris, I am in agreement with Marie and George. Did you try pulling some of the fine structure or tonal contrast out in SEP?

I did, but there simply wasn't enough image to work with without over-sharpening the heck out of it...it was a quick shot in a fading day. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. C'est la vie.
