Haven't had much opportunity to walk during daylight hours on a day when it was warm enough to operate a camera. Yesterday was one such day, though. These are a few shots of the local park taken with my Canon S95. #1 ISO 80 f/4.5 1/125 sec A quick and dirty edit. It was a low contrast kind of day, and I went in the opposite direction with the processing. #2 ISO 80 f/8 1/60 sec #3 ISO 80 f/8 1/50 sec In these two shots, I was attracted by the lines of the fencing and the way the snow and the frost outlined them and the trees. I don't know that I have done the best job of bringing out those features. Suggestions for improvement welcome.

Hello Janis, I'm struggling with these. I'm trying to see what compelled you to make these images and I can't - I'm just not seeing it. The best I can come up with is a return visit – when conditions allow. Maybe you can get some pics of the fencing as zig zag abstracts – with strong geometry? Sorry it's so hard to brake through my post Christmas mental block.

Out of your three images, I prefer your first one (although I can't really work out what it is, but maybe that is the attraction), but I do like the shadow area in all of those ridges and the way that the snow is holding on. I think image 2 would had been stronger without the fence line in the foreground, similar to image 3.

I think it may be a case of end-of-year panic.

Not much time to pause and think when you are attached to a dog, though, as I invariably am on these walks. I am going to have to separate the dog walking from the photography, I think.
