Great atmosphere you have created here with good long shadows. I like the way the fence stands out and leads your eye up to the castle, which has again got good lighting on it against that dramatic sky.
I did not realise how close these two castles were, it rained all day when we were their back in August.

Dave, Welcome to the Cafe. Nice image. I've been trying to do that one the other way round. E.G. Bamburgh with Lindisfarne in the background. So far no joy.

thanks all, i did enlarge bamburgh castle as with your eyes its very clear but with a wide angle it disappears to a small blob, so i brought it up more
Nick, the trouble with doing it the other way round is the lindisfarne castle is so small with a wide angle i reckon it would disappear completely

Dave, this is my favorite out of this series. The composition is unusual but spot on for this image and the intensity and contrasts in the lighting really make this an outstanding image.

Wonderfully dramatic! Like everyone else, I think you picked quite the moment - the lighting is great and I imagine, you've had some fun telling the story in pp, too. I, also, love the line of the fence and the swirling whipped cream hill that the castle is on. The scene is set - some heroic story must be about to unfold. Oh, and, btw, hi, Dave! I'm Katy! Welcome to FSC!
