Last week Jiro drew my attention to the "Discussion of All Things Photographic" under our logo. It's all a bit watery and predictable and when I looked at it further I am not even sure its good usage of English The challenge for this week F-Stop agents is to come up with a postamble that has more depth to it (linguistically rather than pixelically). It cannot be too long since it has to fit under the logo but I can adjust font size so the word count does not have to be the same as my existing effort of Lancastrian linguistic refinement - you are lucky you didnt get "eh oop lad 'ows abart a foter"

I think they call it a strapline, don't they? meaning a sub-heading? what about 'for those who love photography' (too corny) I need to think about it.

I like that because it covers everything..film, digital, alternative and hybrid. I am going to start posting some of my platinum work soon (as soon as I can find a good flatbed scanner that will scan 18 x 24 prints) so you guys can see what really makes my heart sing.

Oh, this will sound all critical and serious. Just take it all with a grain of salt. Alright, firstly, this vein of thinking is lacking a little of the warmth that we want, I think. It's kind of "web-sitey". The words that we're "supposed to say". Secondly, it's way too serious! In other words, we don't ONLY talk about things photographic. It's good - definitely good! It's just not capturing that first vision. Picky and critical, ain't I?! Sorry - I really am hoping for something more. Maybe, the title, though, in itself, helps to 'warm it up' a little? The original vision: "I'd like this little group to be like a friendly get-together at the pub or over a meal where everyone chats, has fun, shares ideas and learns from each other.
Like I said to you before, let's see where things go."
About F-Stop Cafe
A congenial spot for discussing photography and anything else that takes your fancy.
We do however aim to promote and encourage a strong bias toward constructive C&C for photographers who wish to learn or up their game.
There is no restriction on genre or levels of photographic manipulation Well, that's all for now.

How about: "A congenial photographer's gathering". Dreadful, isn't it! Wait I can do better-worser still! ;D "A convivial photographic conversation"Meh. I'll come back to it!

How about "... A wacky web bar for photographers." Now that's totally casual and not very serious. ;D It's catchy and with a twist once they see how serious we are at growing with our photography skills.

The latest buzz in this kind of thing seems to be just words rather than a sentence. So I thought something like.
"Capture, Critique, Conversation."

Ok, just to inject a question: Does our name F-Stop Cafe really gives you a direct idea that we are a photography forum? I asked because if it is not that clear I would still like to add the word photography somewhere. If I will go with Steve's idea, i would go for something like this: F-Stop cafe Photography - Capture, Critique, Conversation. Just a suggestion guys.
