We'll try to see if ProBoards has a way of maximizing its SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to free forums or if this kind of service only works with their paid members. I will look into this more for the group. Thanks! I did not know that F-Stop Cafe is too common in the web. Most are restaurants actually. Hahaha!

F-stop cafe............We capture, shoot and manipulate. ;D Mandy, I've just read through the thread and want to put in a vote for your train of thinking with reference to the preamble. And like several others here I have a bit of a thing about firearms too, for all kinds of completely aesthetic and legal reasons, of course And the best season of all has started too ;D

On the contrary, my quote is purely in the photographic context. I'm not hot on hunters, they scare the s*** out of our flock every winter.

I understand your reasoning, but chacun à son goût, and regardless of the connotation, I still like your suggestion best.

The idea of the three word description is good but 'capture' and 'critique' might scare people instead of sharing with them just how warm and cuddly we are... perhaps, we just need to get out our thesaurus .... when I have time, I will but, in the meantime....we do have so many good writers around here.....where are you guys?

The latest buzz in this kind of thing seems to be just words rather than a sentence. So I thought something like. "Capture, Critique, Conversation." I like it! And I didn't know it was the 'thing' but I have used the 3 word banner on my website - People, Places, Sports So I'm up to date and I didn't even know it ....insert teenager groan from Couch at this point

Instead of capture we could use Create... If the 3 word idea grows legs...

Steve, In my rush to catch up with all I'd missed yesterday I failed to see your 'Capture, Critique, Conversation'. I'm useless at making up these kinds of things, but am very much enjoying watching how the suggestions here are evolving. I think the main challenge is that we offer both hard critiques and also a very stimulating conversation and social side, so it's difficult to convey all these strengths in one small caption. I now think that 'Capture, Critique, Conversation' is the closest and most succinct suggestion so far that describes this forum, and look forward to seeing what follows. (Lord, but don't I sound stilted! Please forgive me. It's 4 am and I need my first coffee of the day before I write any more posts ).

More seriously:
(Serving) A Unique Blend of Photo Commentary and Conversation (Serving) A Distinctive Blend of Photo Commentary and Conversation (Serving) A Scintillating Blend of Photo Commentary and Conversation

F-Stop Cafe "Darwin at His Best"
Does it really need a sub-banner...? I mean, really. Cannot the merit of the forum grow because of the merit instead of a self-proclaimed "greatness?"
We will continue to evolve, and like other lifeforms, grow according to the space we're given. A banner tends to confine, to state or take a position, and I am not really of a frame of mind that we need go there...ah, but I am one voice...but, really?

Well, Chris, if you search the words "F-Stop Cafe" on the internet the first sites that would come out of the search engines are about Restaurant, Bistros, Coffee Shops, and some occasional independent companies bearing the same name. That's the reason why we need to think of some extra detail so when people search us or about photography, our forum will appear from their search. While typing this reply, a thought came to me: What about "F-Stop Photography Cafe"? Now that would definitely tell them who we are now. I wonder if it would be that easy to change forum names now that we are listed initially as F-Stop Cafe. Sound good or did I made it more convoluted and confusing?
