As some of you might know I'm a member of our univeristy racing team URE. Besides doing the fancy engineering stuff I like to join in with my camera. As we build an entirely new electric race car every year I started a little studio photography project to provide a story of photographs for this year. For example a self designed and developed tire: These tires will be mounted on custom Carbon Fibre rims: A bunch of anodized aluminum suspension parts Plastic casing for the Tractive System Active Light (a blinking red light which flashes whenever the High Voltage systems are activated). PCB's for the Battery Management System (safety control system of the HV battery) Set fully adjustable shock dampers with custom damping characteristics. Custom anodized aluminum upright For the flash setup I used a Interfit EXD-200 studio set with a softbox flashing from the far left and an umbrella for the fill light and the illumination of the background.

Jeroen, you never cease to amaze! I'll let the guys drool over it all, though....(I just have no clue! ) I do, however, fully appreciate your enthusiasm and love for it all - there are so many wonderful things in this ol' world to try and explore and engage with, aren't there? I appreciate the lovely and smooth lighting that you've given these. I wonder about backing off the brightness or the highlights in #s 3 and 4? What do you think? It's always so good to hear what you've been up to, Jeroen! edit: yeah - oops! Guys don't drool, do they?

Very nice shots Jeroen. Love the wheels in the first shot. They would look totally killer on my XB.

Great set, having spent many years working with 24 hour motorcycle endurance race teams myself, I know how you get very attached to these machines. I particularly like your last two shots with the shocks and wheel station. Just for interest, what voltage do these machines run at.

Thank you all for your replies :-). @ Barry, As I said we're building a new car every year. Last years car had both rear wheels independently powered with a 30 kw peak motor each. The HV systems runs at 110 Volts max and it can deliver about 900 Ampere max. This year we're upgrading a little on the powertrain: The HV system will provide about 250 Amps max at 360 V to power a single motor with limited power of 85kw. This motor delivers 750 nm of torque at the motor and 1200 nm at the wheels(!). This all together in a car of about 240 kg. For more information have a look at our website: University Racing Eindhoven.

Is Delft in this a competitor too, or do they only solar cars?
Looks fine Jeroen.

Thank you Pjerry,
TU Delft is also competing in the Formula Student competition (just like Eindhoven) with their team DUT Racing.

All very nicely shot Jeroen. That car looks like it would be a blast to take for a spin or three.

Yummy, yummy parts! Hahaha! Awesome product photography shots, Jeroen. How long is this electric racecar? It does looks like it has a very short wheelbase. Must be a very agile and quick turning beast on the racetrack. I've heard that some motogp bikes are toying with carbon fibre rims to reduce unsprung weight to maximize power to weight ratio but have never seen one on an electric car. I would really love to know how much torque it can produce considering that its electric. You're one gifted man, bro'.
