This assignment idea was started by Mick (Muckergee) on the old F-Stop Flickr discussion board. So its all credit to Mick for the assignment. This is not a competition so there are no prizes to win. It is just to see what we get when we do the same subject together. Your mission, should you decide to participate, is to interpret a word and produce five images in a set. No borders and no mounts, just the images of your interpretation of the word. There are no restriction on the subject except nudity. No nude image allowed. You will have 3 WEEKS to complete the assignment. No pressure here, you don't have to do it If you don't want to. But, it would be interesting to see what you can come up with. Our next assignment word is " CURVES". The assignment will officially start on the 10th of this October and will end on the 31st. We would encourage that you post your images here on this thread without exceeding the maximum size of 1024px on the largest side. You can check the Calendar (main menu bar) to keep abreast of assignment closing dates. Thank you very much and hope to see your images here and happy shooting!

My ex was a violinist, violin-maker and collector so I've had plenty of time to study the things, and they're about as curvy and pleasingly tactile as they come.....well, OK, apart from a French horn, or something like that, if you're really a bit odd Great job you did there, Jiro, I love the chiaroscuro. Your eye for lighting is superb And from F-stops to F-holes.......makes sense ;D Looking forward to spending a month searching out curves wherever I go, and looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with too... Will we all be having a big Hallowe'en party to celebrate the end of this assignment? ;D (OK, no time to search out a Hallowe'en party emoticon this morning, but I had this penguin handy, and it will have to do ). P.S. I just noticed something.....OK, who's the joker who gave me the Karma point?.....I thought everyone had a list of my allergies....And I'm obviously not coming over as scary enough .....Whoever you are, you'll get yours, believe me, when I hunt you down ;D Actually, I just had an idea. If Wirefox doesn't close the poll and remove the pesky things soon I'll be tempted to launch a karma storm and give everyone maximum points just to make things fair

You must have picked the wrong image size to link here, Chris. When I checked your image info it only says 640 X 426 px in size.

I wonder if I am not writing correctly...I said that already. I picked the standard "IMG" pick from Photobucket and even going the convoluted way in flickr, it didn't change the size.
Note, of course, the image size presented here is exactly half what is on my PS file reducer. Perhaps I should try to just change it is PS, and save as a jpeg and not use the posting converter.

Sound good to me. My workflow before posting any image to the web is to alter the resolution value from 240ppi to something smaller that would let me go near the 1024px size. Since I use Flickr, one of the default size of Flickr is 1024px so even if my final image dimension say is 1055px, Flickr will reduce it further to 1024px.

You'd think some computer geek guru would come up with a universal converter...duh-uh.

You'd think some computer geek guru would come up with a universal converter...duh-uh. It's not remotely impossible. My opinion is - Flickr as an image hosting service website is not really that difficult to use. As you can see most of us are linking images here from Flickr. I'm really confused as to why your images are not appearing properly wherein you were successful on some of your attempts before.

All is well...it's like going around your elbow to scratch your fanny, but it is doable. Not to worry, mon.
