For your review, I have posted the same fall meadow picture. One original and one PP using Snap Art - watercolor option. Using the original, feel free to PP otherwise. I would love to see everyone else'es take. 1. _MG_9942orig by mariehass, on Flickr 2. _MG_9942m by mariehass, on Flickr 'Rie

Marie, Fall colors! Love them. We are having a dry fall so the colors are lacking as everything just looks dry. To explain why I did what I did here before you have a look.....I looked at this image and the color is the subject here, as there is really nothing but color that is clearly the focus. It seemed a bit busy for me and with no place to really rest I decided to take everything to a soft focus and concentrate on the color. Just one idea among what I am sure will be many different. Hmmm, seeing it now I might should have used some blurring as well. Now with a little blurr added

I love seeing everyone's interpretations!
Thanks Paul. My take is, as always, bold in your face color. And you were right, to me the key feature to this image was color.

'Rie, I have a slight problem with the darkness of the background in your version. There, there is no bold, in-yer-face colour and so I had a play: I took your original as shown, opened it in ACR and pushed the Fill to +100, to open up some of the darker background areas. Vibrance to +100 as well, then into PS, fiddled a bit - sorry, can't remember the steps, but did make a mask and paint in some pure white in Overlay blend mode. Anyway, you may well hate the result, but I thought "Colour? - I'll give the girl colour!"

Umm. Then, as I don't know what possessed me before, I took your processed version, opened it in ACR and pushed the Fill to a modest +54. This just opens up the light a little and makes for a slightly more up-beat image.

Ooh, I like a PP challenge. It will have to wait until I get back home from work tonight though

Awesome!!!! So much fun!
Nice Paul! I like what you have done.
Joe? Care to venture into the fray?
Thank you Kit for brightening up my PP image. I like it better. My image was "heavier".
Steve? Still waiting.
Chris, It looks as though you have combined both images? You said a bit of tom-foolery. I like your take. 'Rie

I did do some combining, but only of images I produced using my plug-ins. There are at least 6 layer masks, layers, and three different plug-ins involved in this edit. I had a lot of fun.

This was edited in Viveza and Color Efex Pro, the latter using an effect called Polaroid Transfer.

Accepted.....I had a vision in my first edit but did not take it far enough to accomplish it. I think this is closer.

I like that accepted Rie's challenge. I like the results but wish the whites on the right side were just a tad more detailed...but it's not a deal breaker for me.
